Erhart

Legend has it that in 1937 Amelia Earhart was lost in the Pacific Ocean in her attempt to circumnavigate the world. As with most legends, there is an element of falsity; Amelia Erhart arrived in Portland shortly after and changed the spelling of her last name. Here, she started designing clothing inspired by the wears of the natives from her trip, from whom she received directions home.

Erhart is an independent clothing company founded by a long lost niece who is inspired by Amelia. This collection reflects the heat in the concrete jungles and the irony of family history.
